About Our Men's Ministry

 

Men are given a high calling from God. When Adam was created, he was given the responsibility to guard and to keep (tend, nurture) the garden and everything in the garden. This included his bride who was not created until later. Many men within the Church fail to realize this, not due to any fault of their own, but because many churches fail to teach it. Hence, the goal of our men’s ministry is to help men understand their God-given role and responsibilities as men. We aim to teach men that:

 

• Being in the leadership role within the home and family is not due to the fall but is rooted in creation.

• Men are given the responsibility to lead not just within the home, but within the church and all of society.

• It is the responsibility of husbands and fathers to shepherd their families, leading by example, teaching them God’s Word, bringing them to church, and engaging in regular family worship.

• It is their responsibility to protect the family not only from physical harm, but also from emotional, mental, and spiritual harm that may come against them through the dangerous philosophies, teachings, and heresies of this world.

• It is their responsibility to provide for the physical and material needs of the family.

• Servant-leadership does not primarily mean that men lead their families by serving them, but that they serve their families by leading them.

 

To do this, the men of the church read through books together on the topic of biblical manhood, then meet monthly for breakfast and to discuss what they’ve read, to pray for each other, and to encourage one another. 

 

Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. (1 Cor. 16:13)
